I am writing a grand and helping to fund my own smartboard, so it belongs to me.
Is it possible to move a mounted board to another classroom or even another school? I really want a smartboard, but next year I might be moving classrooms, and later in life (if I get married or situation changes) I might even be teaching in a different school, and I want to be able to take my smartboard with me since it will be my property.
I am younger and in my third year of teaching, so my future is still unsettled. My living arrangement is not permenant, but I don't want to have to wait to get a smartboard until I am settled in my own house in a permenant area.
Can a mounted board be unmounted and remounted elsewhere or do I need to get a mobile board?

A mounted board can be moved to another classroom but this can be a costly venture since installing the boards has a price. Often the wall space is altered so it is hard to hide the fact that something has been removed once you decide to do this. I wouldn't suggest you take this route.
As an alternative, you might look at something like an I-Rover by Copernicus. This movable stand comes with the ability to mount the projector and it also allows you to raise and lower the board without orienting every time you move it. Check it out online at www.i-rover.info |
