SMART Advanced Level PD Session

Our SMART Advanced Users Course is for teachers who have been using their SMART Board for more than a year and who are comfortable with the concepts and strategies covered in the Fundamentals and Intermediate courses. We encourage attendees to bring examples of lessons they want to convert to SMART Notebook lessons. The SMART Advanced Users Course focuses on building interactivity, differentiation, and multiple intelligences into SMART lessons.

An experienced education consultant from Advanced Education will lead this session. Using your own laptop computer with SMART Notebook version 10 installed, your SMART session will unfold as a combination of formal instruction and hands on learning designed so participants are able to consolidate concepts and strategies.

Starting from a curriculum concept selected by the participant this session will focus on:

  • Developing a template for lesson creation
  • Adding multimedia to a SMART file
  • Using SMART Notebook Software to organize reesources
  • Managing user created learning objects
  • Using themes and groups to assess and evaluate student progress
  • Using the SMART Board as a tool to create an inclusive classroom
  • The Lesson Activity Toolkit
  • SMART sponsored professional learning communities

The SMART Advanced Users Course, is a five-hour workshop with most of the time dedicated to using the tools and features in SMART Notebook to bring interactivity to the classroom. We recommend that you bring one or more lessons from your class to that can be turned into a SMART Notebook lesson. Some SMART Boards will be available for those who prefer a kinesthetic learning style.
