Clicker 5 is an established software application with a long history of supporting the development of reading and writing skills in students of all abilities. Originally developed for special needs classrooms, Clicker 5 has also found its way into other areas of education. Today Clicker 5 is used on more than 500,000 classroom computers.

Intended Audience

Clicker 5 is intended for teachers, support staff, consultants, and parents interested in supporting students in the development of reading and writing skills. The course is designed for those who have little or no experience with Clicker 5 as well as those who are interested in learning more about the software in order to create practical curriculum focused teaching and learning resources.


Course Outline

Clicker 5 for Educators begins with an overview of the software including examples to help attendees fully understand its power and potential. Our Education Consultants use formal instruction to present ideas and strategies for using Clicker 5 as an effective teaching and learning tool. Throughout the day, attendees will be provided with ample hands-on time to develop resources that can be used in the classroom immediately.

By the end of this course participants will be able to:

  • Launch Clicker 5
  • Open, edit and save existing templates
  • Create new templates, including grids, labels, and presentations
  • Work with talking books
  • Use the various access options
