Computer Basics for Educators is intended for those who are interested in upgrading their computer skills in order to make effective use of the many software applications available to teachers and students.
Course Description
Essentially, the course will help you to develop a higher comfort level with Windows, file management and the use of basic applications such as Power Point, word processors, and websites. Participants will have the opportunity to learn basic Windows commands as well as how to save and retrieve files on a computer network. Attendees will also learn how to bookmark and organize websites using Internet Explorer or other browser. Finally, we will spend time learning the basics of Power Point and Word.
By the end of this course participants will be able to:
- Open and save a file to a network location
- Create a folder
- Search for a file
- Launch an application
- Complete simple tasks with a browser
