Teachers, literacy leaders, consultants responsible for creating literacy and numeracy activities for early learners (up to grade 3).


Course Description

SMART Table for Educators is a hands-on course focusing on developing engaging lessons that promote literacy, numeracy, social and communication skills in early learners. The course begins with an overview of the SMART Table, focusing on the software applications designed specifically for the Table. After a discussion that deals with strategies for acquainting yours students with the SMART board, you will spend time creating multimedia activities. Finally, you will examine teacher and student modes for the SMART Table. Some basic trouble shooting skills are built into the course.

By the end of this course participants will be able to:

  • Explain the SMART Table to other educators
  • Start and shut down the SMART Table
  • Operate the SMART Table in Teacher and Student modes
  • Create engaging activities using the SMART Table Toolkit
  • Transfer files from the Table toolkit to the SMART Table
  • Perform basic trouble shooting skills on the SMART Table
