Assessment

Assessment is the act of collecting data for making sound decisions about the effectiveness of instruction. Assessment can be diagnostic, formative, or summative. Due to specific circumstances, many special need struggle with assessment tasks.

  • Senteo Interactive Response Systems enable students to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of a topic with significantly less writing. Additionally, teachers and students receive instant feedback on test results allowing for review and re-teaching of concepts before introducing new concepts.
  • Video, images, sound, music, and voice are easily incorporated into tests creates with SMART Notebook Software and administered with the SMART board, giving students additional supports targeted to specific learning styles. This strategy becomes even more powerful when combined with Senteo
  • Students can use SMART Notebook Software to organize text, images, video, sound and voice as an alternate means of completing assessment tasks.
  • Students can display text, images, and 3D objects with a document camera as a support as part of a presentation which may be an alternate assessment task.
  • Complete a task at the SMART board. Use the record feature to record the process including the audio of the student explaining their work and thought process
