The York School

The Installation

Advanced Presentation Solutions (APS) was responsible for the AV installation for The York School. Each standard classroom has a front-projection SMART Board, a high-power, high-resolution NEC projector and an amplified stereo audio system. Each room also has connectivity jacks for CD players, DVD players, VCRs or document cameras. A total of 37 rooms were installed; included in this number are Art and Music rooms, Science labs, 2 libraries, a boardroom, a drama theatre, and the gymnasium.

They have a large portable rear-projection screen and ultra-high powered projector with interchangeable lenses that they setup in the gym for special events. They also have a large motorized projection screen in each of their 2 libraries. Their drama room has a 14' wide video screen with an ultra-high powered projector. And they have 2 x large 37" digital signage monitors at the entrance and rear of the school to welcome visitors, display current information, show pictures of recent school activities, class trips, etc. In addition, the school recently got a few Senteo systems and a few document cameras.

As the school continues to grow numerically, they've recently purchased space in a new building down the street from their current building and will be adding at least 5-10 new Smart Board classrooms there as well.
