Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board

The Project

Dufferin-Peel Catholic DSB - SMART Sync is a software application that among other things enables teachers and students to share files and desktops. Generally it is used in classrooms where there is a one to one computer ratio. Advanced Education has provided the SMART Sync solution to Dufferin Peel DSB, who has been using Sync as an inclusion tool to support students with low vision.

The teacher desktop and by extension images on the SMART board are "shared" onto the student's laptop computer. The "shared" image enables low vision students to see what is happening on the SMART board. As required, the teacher gives control of the SMART board to the student who can then interact with the SMART board from his desk.
