Chisholm Academy - Advanced secured a special grant to assist the school to implement their first SMART Board in 2008. In addition, our Education Consultants customized a PD plan specifically around special needs and also implemented to help the staff begin using the technology.

Upper Canada District School Board - In the summer of 2008, UCDSB moved forward with a pilot project using SMARTBoards to integrate autistic students into the regular classroom. Within weeks of starting the project, teachers were reporting exciting results. From the beginning of the project, UCDSB has worked closely with Advanced Education, to acquire SMART Boards, with stands for classroom mobility, and training on how to use the technology. Toronto Catholic DSB - As soon as the SMART Table was launched into the Canadian market, TCDSB made plans to use it in their schools, as an education tool to strengthen pre literacy, numeracy, and social skills for children aged 3 to 6 years. This approach would mean students could arrive at school better prepared to participate in cooperative learning activities. (read more)

York University PhD project - Advanced Education is partnering with a PhD student in psychology at York University, who is planning to do her dissertation on the use of a SmartBoard in combination with IntelliTools ClassroomSuite 4 for adolescents with mental health issues (and ensuing behavioral and academic problems) who are in tertiary care treatment. Dufferin-Peel Catholic DSB - SMART Sync is a software application that among other things enables teachers and students to share files and desktops. Generally it is used in classrooms where there is a one to one computer ratio. Advanced Education has provided the SMART Sync solution to Dufferin Peel DSB, who has been using Sync as an inclusion tool to support students with low vision. (read more)

Ronald McDonald House Toronto - Advanced was contacted by educators at Ronald McDonald House Toronto (RMH Toronto) who are responsible for providing educational support to children ranging from junior kindergarten to grade twelve from the twenty-eight families staying at the House. (read more)

Forum on Abilities - Advanced Education’s Manager of Professional Development, John Palbom, was asked to return to the Forum on Abilities show to present a 30-minute demonstration on valuable educational solutions for students with exceptionalities that range from physical/mobility, auditory, visual impairments, behaviour (ADD, autism), and mental impairments. Lakeland School Walworth County, WI - Lakeland School Walworth County, WI - Lakeland School is one of only four county-wide special education school districts in Wisconsin. As one of the first schools to embrace the satalight™, Lakeland uses it as a handicapped accessible SMART Board and computer touch screen. (read more)
